Overview

Background

Garden View is an outdoor construction, maintenance, and plant material company in Irwindale, CA. The company hired Miri Consulting to improve some of their employee workflows. I was brought on through Miri to synthesize their existing research and deliver new user flows for the site.

Problem

Garden View's custom software handles a heavy workload, and disconnected workflows for scheduling, various order types, and nursery tours often create confusion and stall productivity. Additionally, orders display too much information with little visual hierarchy, making important details difficult to locate. The software also lacked a cohesive dashboard for the Fulfillment Manager, who oversees the fulfillment of all orders. All of the data anyone could ever need was readily available, we just needed to help untangle it.

Goals

  1. Create a dashboard for the fulfillment manager that allows them to see important updates at a glance and navigate the site easily.

  2. Improve the user experience of scheduling orders and tours from various sources.

  3. Streamline the process of sourcing out-of-stock plants and keeping inventory up to date.

Role
